Endpoint
Body mass
CAT:outcome/body-massreported in kg
Method
Total body mass on a calibrated scale under stated conditions -- time of day, fasted or fed, recorded on the edge.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
Deliberately not "body weight". This is the crude endpoint, and for creatine specifically an increase here is frequently water rather than tissue -- which is why lean-mass and fat-mass are separate nodes. THAT IS A NAMING CHOICE AND NOT AN EXCLUSION, and the distinction cost a claim on 2026-08-23: a two-pass-agreed curcumin finding was refused because its span was the word "weight", which shared no vocabulary with an entry labelled "Body mass". Trials overwhelmingly write "weight" or "body weight" for exactly this quantity, so both are listed. What the note above rules out is mapping lean or fat mass here, not reading the ordinary word for the number on the scale.
