Endpoint
Reduced glutathione concentration
CAT:outcome/reduced-glutathionereported in micromol/L
Method
Reduced glutathione concentration in erythrocytes, whole blood or plasma, by enzymatic recycling assay or by chromatography with the method recorded on the edge.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
A substrate pool, not an enzyme rate. Sample handling dominates this measurement more than almost anything else in the vocabulary — the reduced form oxidises within minutes of draw unless the sample is acidified, so a null result here is frequently a preanalytical artefact and the handling is recorded on the edge.
