Component of the CCR4-NOT complex, a large multiprotein complex with several proteins assembled around the scaffolding protein CNOT1. This complex is one of the major cellular mRNA deadenylase and is linked to various cellular processes including bulk mRNA degradation, miRNA-mediated repression, translational repression during translational initiation and general transcription regulation. CNOT12 affects helicase selection into the CCR4-NOT complex. In addition, plays a role in DNA double strand break repair and is involved in actin cytoskeleton rearrangement and cancer cell invasion..
