Endpoint
Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index global score
CAT:outcome/psqi-global-scorereported in score (0-21)
Method
Global score of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, a 19-item self-report questionnaire covering the past month, summed from seven component domains to a range of 0 to 21.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
SIGN INVERSION HAZARD against habitual sleep duration in hours: this improves by FALLING, duration improves by RISING, and duration is one of this instrument's own seven component domains - so conflating them inverts the sign using a number the instrument itself contains. Any paper reporting sleep quality without naming an instrument must not be mapped here; the Insomnia Severity Index, the Epworth Sleepiness Scale and actigraphic sleep efficiency are different instruments with different ranges, and sleep efficiency improves by RISING. Component subscores are not comparable to this global total either.
