Method
Plasma or serum nitrate by ozone chemiluminescence, Griess assay or HPLC, with the assay recorded on the edge.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
The INGESTED species and a direct absorption marker for dietary nitrate. NOT interchangeable with plasma nitrite, which is its reduced product, sits three orders of magnitude lower, and can move independently — a supplement can raise one without the other. The two labels differ by a single letter and tie under object plausibility, which is recorded in KNOWN_AMBIGUOUS rather than pretended away.
