Endpoint
Catalase activity
CAT:outcome/catalase-activityreported in U/mL
Method
Catalase enzymatic activity in erythrocyte lysate, whole blood or serum, by rate of hydrogen peroxide decomposition followed spectrophotometrically at 240 nanometres.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
Reported alongside superoxide dismutase in most antioxidant panels and moves independently of it often enough that merging them would manufacture agreement. The literature abbreviates this CAT, which this file deliberately does NOT declare: CAT is also this project's own identifier namespace prefix, so the token appears throughout the vocabulary and would discriminate nothing. Spans must spell catalase out.

resveratrol — increases
LikelyGrade B, Likely. Human evidence, limited replication or design limits.Finding“In addition, compared to placebo, Supplementation with resveratrol significantly increased glutathione peroxidase levels (SMD = 0.38, 95%CI(0.03, 0.74), P = 0.04; Level of evidence:low) and catalase levels (SMD = 0.33, 95%CI(0.03, 0.63), P = 0.03; Level of evidence: low).”
