Method
Sperm concentration in ejaculate by standard semen analysis (manual haemocytometer counting or computer-assisted sperm analysis), expressed as millions of spermatozoa per millilitre, per WHO semen-analysis methodology.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
A standard WHO semen-analysis parameter; both backing papers (meta-analyses of sperm parameters in infertile/asthenozoospermic men) report it as a pooled mean difference in the same unit. No existing node covers any semen-analysis measurement, so there is no established near-miss today -- but flagging for future curators: sperm MOTILITY and sperm MORPHOLOGY are separate WHO semen parameters from concentration and are not interchangeable measures of semen quality; they would need their own node(s), never folded onto this one. Assay method (manual vs computer-assisted) is recorded on the edge where the source states it.
