- Adults aged 50-74 y with type 2 diabetes and a 10-year ASCVD risk score >=5%, Cairo, Egypt; 85 randomised (42 curcumin, 43 control), 72 analysed (36 per group); open-label trial in which the control arm received conventional therapy only, with no placebo; the paper declares no primary endpoint and powered its sample size on change in HDL-C; LDL-C calculated by the Friedewald equation, HDL-C by enzymatic colorimetric assay
