Days from the start of treatment to the first culture-documented urinary tract infection recurrence, pooled as a mean difference in days. Follow-up length and censoring handling recorded on the edge.

The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.

Notes

SIGN INVERSION against the UTI rate per patient-year, its co-reported near-reciprocal — see that node. A second and broader SIGN INVERSION against every other duration endpoint in this vocabulary: hospital length of stay, ICU length of stay, diarrhoea duration, and duration of mechanical ventilation are all measured in days or hours and all improve by SHORTENING, while this one improves by LENGTHENING. A shared unit of time carries no direction. Note also that a mean time to event ignores censoring and is not a hazard ratio; the two pooled papers on this endpoint differ for exactly that reason.
