Stimulated interleukin-10 response

Method
Interleukin-10 concentration in supernatant after ex-vivo whole-blood stimulation with a defined agonist -- Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide, Lactobacillus paracasei or Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Agonist, dose and incubation time recorded on the edge.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
SIGN INVERSION HAZARD against the stimulated interleukin-12 response measured in the same assay wells from the same donors: this cytokine is anti-inflammatory and improves by RISING, IL-12 is pro-inflammatory and improves by FALLING. A paper reporting a cytokine response without naming the cytokine must not be mapped to either. Also distinct from resting circulating IL-10 -- an ex-vivo challenge measures capacity to respond, not ambient inflammatory tone, and the two can move in opposite directions in the same subject.
