How it is measured

Total raw score on the Social Responsiveness Scale, Second Edition, a 65-item caregiver- or teacher-completed rating of social impairment severity across social awareness, cognition, communication, motivation and restricted interests. Higher is more social impairment. Raw score against T-score, and the form (school-age, preschool, adult), are recorded with each finding.
