Smoking abstinence rate

How it is measured

Proportion of participants classified as abstinent from cigarette smoking at a stated follow-up timepoint, ascertained by self-report or by self-report with biochemical verification (for example exhaled carbon monoxide). The follow-up horizon and whether biochemical verification was used are recorded with each finding, since they are not interchangeable and change the observed rate.
