How it is measured
Sodium concentration in serum or plasma by potentiometry (ion-selective electrode) on a clinical chemistry or metabolic panel analyser, in mmol/L (numerically identical to mEq/L). Direct or indirect potentiometry and the age group sampled are recorded with each finding.
