How it is measured

Free choline concentration in plasma by targeted liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry (LC-MS or LC-MS/MS). Fasting state, time since the last dose or meal, and the age group sampled are recorded with each finding, because plasma choline moves within hours of intake and neonatal values differ from adult values.
