How it is measured

Area under the plasma caffeine concentration-time curve (AUC0-inf or AUC over a dosing interval) after oral caffeine, quantified by HPLC or LC-MS/MS and computed by non-compartmental analysis. Dose, formulation and the AUC interval are recorded with each finding.
