How it is measured

Aldosterone concentration in plasma by radioimmunoassay, ELISA or LC-MS/MS, in a venous sample. Posture at sampling, sodium status, time of day, and the time since any infusion or dose are recorded with each finding, because aldosterone moves several-fold with posture and with renin-angiotensin stimulation.
