Patient survival rate

Method

Proportion of patients alive at the end of a stated follow-up period, pooled as a risk ratio. Follow-up length, population, and whether the estimate is actuarial or a simple proportion recorded on the edge.

The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.

Notes

SIGN INVERSION against all-cause mortality, which appears throughout this vocabulary and is the same events counted with opposite polarity: a survival risk ratio of 1.05 and a mortality risk ratio of 1.05 describe opposite worlds. This is the clearest and most consequential reversal risk in the batch, and every edge here must state which polarity the source reported. Also distinct from graft survival, which follows the transplanted organ rather than the recipient, and from cardiovascular mortality, a cause-specific subset that can move while all-cause survival does not.
