Endpoint
Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI)
CAT:outcome/ocular-surface-disease-indexreported in points (0-100)
Method
Patient-reported dry-eye symptom burden on the 12-item Ocular Surface Disease Index, scored 0 to 100. The instrument is fixed; no variant is admitted under this identifier.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
6 papers, 5 randomised. A FALL is improvement, which inverts against the visual-function endpoints reported in the same trials. A symptom questionnaire rather than a sign: it correlates poorly with tear-film measures in the same eyes, so an edge here and an edge on tear break-up time are two findings and not one restated.
