Endpoint
Modified Rankin Scale 0-1 at 90 days (excellent outcome)
CAT:outcome/mrs-0-1-at-90-daysreported in event rate
Method
Proportion of patients scoring 0 or 1 on the modified Rankin Scale, assessed 90 days after stroke onset.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
Will be confused with the functional-independence dichotomisation of the same scale at the same visit, which also admits a score of 2. This is the stricter threshold and it produced a LARGER odds ratio than the wider band in PMID 40392513; averaging two dichotomisations of one scale destroys the threshold effect that is the reason both are reported. Also distinct from ordinal shift analysis across all seven scale levels, which yields a common odds ratio and not an event rate.
