Endpoint
Serum icariside II exposure (AUC0-inf)
CAT:outcome/icariside-ii-aucreported in h*ng/mL
Method
Area under the serum concentration-time curve extrapolated to infinity for icariside II, quantified by LC-MS/MS across 48 hours after a single oral dose and computed by non-compartmental analysis.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
Will be confused with desmethylicaritin exposure measured on the same serum samples in the same pharmacokinetic study. They are different metabolites with radically different kinetics (Tmax around 4 hours here against around 24 hours for the downstream metabolite) and different magnitudes (23.0 against 126.5), so a mis-mapped exposure value is roughly a five-fold error. Note that increase encodes an absorption hypothesis, not a clinical benefit -- greater exposure is desirable only if this metabolite is the active species.
