Incident hypertension
CAT:outcome/hypertension-incidencereported in proportion of participants (event rate)
How it is measured
New-onset hypertension arising during follow-up in adults free of hypertension at baseline, ascertained by a stated blood-pressure threshold (commonly systolic 140 mmHg or above, or diastolic 90 mmHg or above), by a recorded clinical diagnosis, or by antihypertensive treatment started. Reported as the proportion or rate of participants developing hypertension over the follow-up the source states. The definition used, the ascertainment method and the follow-up length are recorded with each finding.
