Intracellular BCG burden in PBMC-derived granulomas (CFU)

How it is measured

Viable intracellular Mycobacterium bovis BCG in in vitro granuloma structures built from peripheral blood mononuclear cells, counted as colony-forming units after lysis and plating on 7H11 agar. Whether the cells came from donors after in vivo supplementation (ex vivo) or were treated in the dish, and the days after infection at which the count was taken, are recorded with each finding.
