Endpoint
Apnea of prematurity
CAT:outcome/apnea-of-prematurityreported in proportion of infants
Method
Occurrence of apnea in preterm infants -- the proportion of infants with one or more recorded apneic episodes, or treatment failure defined as persisting apnea. The definition used and the recording method are recorded on the edge, because monitoring thresholds vary by unit.
The method is part of the endpoint identity. Studies measuring the same quantity by a different method are held as separate endpoints.
Notes
An INCIDENCE endpoint, not a rate. Apnea events per hour or per day is a different measurement and must not map here -- pooling a proportion with an event rate produces a number that describes neither. Distinct from CAT:outcome/death-before-discharge-preterm, which shares the population and nothing else. Minted from six papers, all caffeine: PMIDs 10796287, 42509341, 36121807, 42187335, 10796190, 20091506. Note that several of those compare caffeine against theophylline or aminophylline rather than against control, so the comparator must be read before an edge is drawn.
