How it is measured

Total score on the Aberrant Behavior Checklist, a 58-item caregiver-completed rating of problem behaviours (irritability, lethargy, stereotypy, hyperactivity, inappropriate speech) in children and adults with developmental disability, summed across its subscales. Higher is more aberrant behaviour. Whether the total or an individual subscale is reported is recorded with each finding.
